Week blurb
Over the past few days I have been exploring all three of the websites that we have signed upto, after realising how wordpress works I think that it is a good site. Although it still seems a little complicated. Tumblr is by far the easiest to get my head around, The last one being blogger which I find rather satisfying. I like how you get linked to other users who have the same taste in music, hobbies and interests. For my website I would like to be able create somewhere to store all my photographs and also be able to describe what my thought processes have been along the way, I would like it to be easy to follow and give the person who is visiting the site something different so they would want to come back. After looking at a few websites eg. Moffett’s Artletter which is a nice simple page which has a list of other similar artists beside the main picture, as you click on the links a new window opens up and you see pictures of other work. This would be good for me and maybe I could put links from my page to similar works from either University or other artists who are already on their own websites. Another site that has caught my eye is the official Star Dust film website. What I like about this is that at first you are looking at a title page and you are given options, do you want to buy the dvd, or enter site. If it is possible I would like this option on my website. When you click into the site a whole new world has opened up, at first it seems a bit complicated but when you get your bearings it is pretty simple, I like how the page speaks to you and that there is music playing, this would be a great way of livening up my webpage like my Myspace website take a looky. Coming back to star dust on the main page I like the scrolls that are at the bottom that give you alot of options, one of which is a gallery of photo’s. There is alot to look at on this particular site and its this worldly place that I want to try and capture for my website. It will probably be to much for a free webspace but you never know
